Rolls-Royce has unveiled the Ghost Prism, a truly exclusive limited edition celebrating the brand’s 120th anniversary. Limited to just 120 units, it showcases an unparalleled level of artistry and craftsmanship that feels like a high-fashion runway show for automobiles.
The Ghost Prism’s exterior is a sophisticated Gunmetal hue, with a dazzling array of accent colors including Phoenix Red, Turchese, Mandarin, and Forge Yellow. These accents can be applied to various elements such as the lower bumper inserts, brake calipers, and coachline, creating a visual feast.
In true Roller fashion, the painting itself is nothing short of extraordinary, involving a meticulous 10-step procedure. The Gunmetal finish, achieved through four layers of paint and 16 hours of hand-polishing, transforms the car into a true symbol of luxury.
The Ghost Prism’s brightwork diverges from traditional Rolls-Royce polish, opting instead for a striking “Burnout” finish. This high-gloss, smoky black-grey treatment, reminiscent of a rock concert’s stage lighting, involves hand-prepping, priming, and painting with four coats before polishing to match the car’s exterior sheen. It’s a level of detailing akin to luxury cosmetics yet at a cost comparable to a small yacht.
Anders Warming, one of the visionaries behind this masterpiece, describes the Ghost Prism as a “timeless statement of self-expression”. He emphasises that the car reflects the tastes and desires of Rolls-Royce’s discerning clientele, who often set trends in fashion and luxury.
Under the hood is a twin-turbo V12 engine, offering a performance that accelerates from 0 to 60 mph with effortless grace. While fuel efficiency is not a primary concern for buyers of this exclusive model, the Ghost Prism consumes between 15.0 and 15.8 litres per 100 km, underscoring its preference for premium fuel.
Inside, the Ghost Prism features the opulent Bespoke Starlight Headliner, which recreates the night sky with 1,040 individually placed stars. Unfortunately, there are no rainbows, but the celestial ambience inside is a marvel in itself.
In essence, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Prism is not just a car; it is a statement of luxury and personal expression, embodying the height of automotive artistry and exclusivity.
