The Lexus UX 300e represents a major advancement in the brand’s first production battery electric vehicle (BEV). By leveraging cutting-edge electrification technology, Lexus enhances core vehicle performance, continuing to elevate the joy of driving with its hallmark precision and sophistication.
With its compact design and agile body, the UX 300e offers a uniquely quiet and refined BEV experience. The new powertrain features an upgraded battery pack, increasing capacity from 54.4 kWh to 72.8 kWh, which provides a cruising range of 450 km.
The UX 300e benefits from enhancements made to the dynamic performance of the UX series, ensuring a confident driving experience. It also incorporates expanded active safety technologies and the latest advancements in its multimedia system.
The BEV battery’s under-floor placement lowers the centre of gravity, providing a natural performance advantage alongside standard rear performance dampers. To enhance driving dynamics, the vehicle’s body rigidity has been improved with an additional 20 spot welds, and the power steering and shock absorbers have been specifically tuned for the all-electric model.
When it comes to advanced technology, the “Lexus Safety System +” active safety technology was expanded with the aim of providing a safer and more secure driving experience.
In addition, the latest multimedia system features a larger, higher-resolution touch panel display, optimised form and switch layouts in the instrument panel and console area, and two new Type-C USB connectors on the front of the console for improved usability when charging devices.
The underfloor battery also acts as a sound barrier, and extra attention was focused on wind noise and road noise from gravel and other materials that became apparent in the absence of engine and transmission sounds. The result is a comfortable, quiet interior space.
Installation of a dedicated smartphone app allows the smartphone to be used as a digital key for vehicles with this feature. In addition to being able to lock/unlock the doors via smartphone screen, the EV system can be started by pressing the power switch while holding the smartphone.
Because digital keys can be shared between smartphones, it becomes easier and more convenient to lend or borrow vehicles between far-away family members or friends.
The Panoramic View Monitor combines images from the front, rear, left and right cameras of the vehicle and displays them on the centre display.
The under-body transparent display function combines images of road surface conditions taken in the past with an image of the vehicle underbody, thereby helping the driver to understand road surface conditions and tire position below the vehicle.
The multimedia system and connected feature a 12.3″ touch display with larger size/higher resolution and intuitive state-of-the-art multimedia system for ease-of-use.
The large high-resolution touch display is mounted closer to the driver, allowing touch-screen operation without compromising driving posture.
