New Zealand-based ticketing and event listing company Eventfinda has been acquired by Ticketek.
Ticketek Entertainment Group (TEG), the company operating Ticketek, said Eventfinda will enhance its services by providing tailored ticketing solutions for small- to mid-sized venues and events.
Eventfinda will keep operating under its existing brand, with its team remaining unchanged.
Eventfinda chief executive James McGlinn said the agreement would unite Ticketek and Eventfinda, enabling the Ticketek group to serve a “really important segment of the live event ecosystem with Eventfinda’s agile self-service ticketing platform”.
“Ticketek has a world-class system that operates at the part of the market where they are providing incredible ticketing services to larger venues. Eventfinda started as an events guide, and then we built a self-service ticketing system which operates at a lower part of the market.”
“We work for everything from school fairs and fundraisers right up to mid-size, and that capability, we think, is unique.”
McGlinn declined to disclose the value of the deal.
“We’re not disclosing the deal terms, but I think having both of these brands, let’s say, under one roof is going to be really incredibly beneficial,” he said.
TEG’s chief operating officer and head of global ticketing, Cameron Hoy, has welcomed McGlinn and the Eventfinda team into TEG.
“We’re excited by the prospect of supporting Evenfinda’s growth, not just in New Zealand but also into new markets globally.”
“Having both of these trusted and successful brands under one roof will allow us to service an important segment of the live event sector with an agile, self-service ticketing platform that offers venues and event organisers the flexibility and white-label functionality they require.”
The acquisition is contingent upon meeting certain conditions, including a satisfactory review by the Commerce Commission.
